Jewish Cemetery in Warsaw, Poland

Hello World,

Today was  a busy day and it started off with a bang. After almost getting no sleep on the plane we went off on our adventures. At first, we had a delay but after that we went to the Warsaw Cemetery. Here we learned about life before the war and about how the cemetery was part of the ghetto. The cemetery was also used as a meeting point for people so they could get messages and supplies across.  We talked about   how people did not want to be forgotten. Recently, I can not remember where but I read something that talked about how people do not want to be forgotten but a way to remember a person is to pass down what he or she teaches. From the Holocaust we can remember those who perished by learning to respect everyone and to not tolerate injustice.

After the cemetery we went to part of the wall and we learned how children were the unsung heroes by sneaking out and providing food. From there we went to the death camp Treblinka, and it was sad to know people were marching to their death. Anyway after getting no sleep I am signing off.

From, Brittney
